Here’s the Poster for Meeting II – Thu 10th Sept
Dear EMUGs Supporter!
Feel free to print this out and cover your walls in your home ED if you can. (Word/PDF version available if email us)
More details to follow but here is a taster for what will be an expanded and exciting day of informal and stimulating meetings on Emergency Ultrasound.
We’re starting off with a 2 1/2 hour session on the CCPU – Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound.
This is the ASUM’s most popular credentialing pathway and is suitable for any interested ED point of care sonologist who wants to further their experience, formalise their training to a nationally recognised standard and add to their CV for increased employability!
The 2.30-3pm introductory session will be mainly for learners with no or limited experience with the CCPU but open to all interested. Including: what it is, how much costs, and how to go about it.
The 3-5pm session will be streamed depending on numbers and can be divided into novice and experienced learning groups.
This will involve: challenges experienced, case discussions and proposed solutions to obstacles to practice and learning from more experienced users.
Those interested are welcome to join us in a relaxed and enjoyable nearby dinner from 5-6.45pm.
The main EMUGs meeting will open it’s doors at 6.45pm and allow fellow EMUGers to meet and greet before the curtain goes up at 7.15pm!
We are very lucky to have a surprise FACEM US expert to give the opening talk which promises to be enlightening and educational.
We are also privileged to have a highly experienced multi-trained sonographer who is actively working a Sydney Emergency Department who will be giving the second presentation on her experiences and words of wisdom.
Chris and Brian will give a brief but riveting! report on the progress being made on the ongoing EMUGs projects which will be followed a lively open forum panel discussion on any/all topics brought to the floor.
If the forum discussion is anything like the first meeting it will no doubt be slightly controversial, entertaining, and may contain a few expletives! (Pointing no fingers on that one…)
All sessions: free of charge
Dinner, to be paid in cash by individuals (no Drachmas taken)
Free canapes will be provided 6.45-8.15pm
Alcohol unfortunately to be bought by the drinker, or an overfriendly person at the bar
Parking will be posted closer to the date
(Note, try not to do the same thing as one of the organisers and go to the wrong Doltone House…
the one you are aiming for is across the road from the Star Casino in Darling Island Wharf.
Not Jones Bay Wharf.)
Your only task now is to PLEASE email an RSVP to which session/dinner you are going to
to EMUGSydney@gmail.com. This will make organising the events so much easier.
