EMUGs is proud to announce the expansion to three more regions in early 2017!
Teams in Queensland, New Zealand and Western Australia will be joining forces with the established collaborators in New South Wales and Victoria and bringing EMUGs to more audiences throughout Australia and NZ.
The Central theme for the first meetings in 2017 will be ‘PURE’.
This will build on the awesome work done by our colleagues at www.PUREultrasound.org, check out their website.
Point of care Ultrasound in Resource limited Environments
We will look at four area’s where resources are limited:
Nightshifts in the City
Weekends in the Burbs
Anyday in the Rural regions
Any time in Developing countries
…which brings us to another exciting development in the EMUGs world:
The EMUGs Developing Country Annual Pocus Educator Scholarship
We are delighted to announce the recipient for the 2017 award Dr Gentle Shrestha will be flying from Kathmandu, Nepal to join us at a number of the meetings and present on the challenges of performing and teaching POCUS in a highly resource limited setting of Nepal.
We thank AIU for donating a free place at one of their excellent Advanced Emergency Ultrasound courses for Dr Shrestha!

And most importantly, The Expanding EMUG-CLUb!
Together we can drive more change in EM POCUS and build on the work we have done with our Clinical Leads in Ultrasound bloc (the EMUG-CLUb) in 2016 to look at coordinating and standardising POCUS training in more centres.
We have had three CLUb meetings in NSW and VIC in 2016 and we will look at fine tune our working group documents in early 2017 and publish the CLUb Statement/recommendations for selected areas of POCUS training in our hospitals.
