EMUG VIC Meeting III Thoracic Ultrasound & CLUb meeting
EMUG-Vic is very excited to announce our 3rd EMUG-Vic meeting!
When Thursday 10 November 6.30 pm
Where Rosstown Hotel, 1084 Dandenong Rd, Carnegie (cnr of Kooyong Rd/Dandenong Rd)
There is growing evidence that Thoracic Ultrasound is outperforming Clinical examination and traditional auscultation in every lung pathology. Thoracic Ultrasound luckily has a much less steep learning curve compared to other ultrasound application.
Here is the poster – please post it in your ED and spread the word among your colleagues and trainees. It’d be great to have as many people there as possible!!
See the provisional programme
The meeting is FREE for all trainees
We encourage CLUb delegates to use CME funding – cost $495 (if not possible, let us know, we can still accomodate you – firstname.lastname@example.org)
This meeting will be kindly sponsored by Sonosite and DPM Financial Services
Are you a leader in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in your Emergency Department?

– Future directions for EMUG-Vic – what do you want out of your local network of ultrasound enthusiasts? How should our sponsorship model work? What should our short- and long-term goals be?

Who are the target audience?
We aim to target a broad spectum of health professionals. Although our priority is to cater for Emergency Consultants and Trainees we encourage all health staff whom Point of Care ultrasound is relevant to their practice to come along.
Do I have to pay for the sessions?
EMUGs is committed to providing the most educational and informative sessions we can at a reasonable cost. As a not for profit organisation, we need to cover our administrative costs whilst delivering the meetings, and we seek sponsorship to help cover this. Ticket costs cover venue hire, AV hire and food and beverage and allows us to continue promoting the work of EMUGs
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a Staff Specialist and have any problems getting your CME applications processed please contact us and we will organise a solution that is satisfactory to you.
Do I have to go to all of the sessions?
No. We are aware that emergency and allied health staff have busy work and other commitments.
We are requesting Clinical leads or similar only to go to the 15:30 meeting. This includes FACEMs and Senior Advanced Trainees who have an active role in progressing Ulltrasound in the ED, and of course our Sonographer colleagues!
Is this meeting ACEM CPD accredited?
Yes, like all EMUGs events ACEM CPD points can be accessed via the ACEM website.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Email EMUGVIC@gmail.com with enquiries. We will be in touch as soon as possible
