MAKING POCUS PAtient focused
We believe that the use of Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in the Emergency Department improves patient care and patient outcomes.
EMUGs was created to advocate for the use of POCUS in the Emergency Department and to form a collaborative learning network for all POCUS users including FACEMs, Trainees, Sonographers and all Emergency Service Providers. |
What is EMUGs?
EMUGs is a not-for-profit, special interest group focused on progressing POCUS in Emergency Medicine.
Formed in 2015 by a small group of NSW Emergency Physicians, EMUGs now consists of a wide range of people throughout Australasia and New Zealand who are passionate about improving POCUS education, supervision and support for Emergency Medicine trainees, consultants and other clinicians in a controlled clinical environment. |
How does EMUGS do this?
EMUGS aims to motivate, inspire, educate and support new and experienced POCUS users.
We do this via regular events, online platforms and through special projects.
Our ever growing community is made up collaborative networks of POCUS leaders and new users and partnerships with our international affiliates.
EMUGs advocates that POCUS is recognised as a core skill in Emergency Medicine and that training is available to all EM practitioners.
