I am a remote GP/hospital generalist currently living in Dunedin, and a mainly self-taught ultrasonographer, using POCUS for over 30 years. For the past year, I worked full time in a musculoskeletal/fracture clinic, seeing 20 - 30 patients per day and using ultrasound for most consults. I consider POCUS to be part of the normal examination in most musculoskeletal consults and try to use ultrasound in as many of my GP consults as possible. I believe we need to normalise the use of imaging in our routine consults across general practice and urgent care.
