This 2-day course provides a comprehensive training of the fundamentals of POCUS while meeting ACEM and ASUM credentialing requirements for the core ultrasound (USS) modalities.
By the end of the course, you will be proficient in performing four essential ultrasound techniques: focused echo in life support (FELS), extended focused assessment with sonography in trauma (eFAST), ultrasound of the aorta, and scanning of the lung and thorax.
The program includes online pre-work, short didactic lectures, extensive hands-on scanning practice, image review sessions, and networking opportunities.
This course is designed for participants of all experience levels.
ACEM trainees who are beginning to use ultrasound
Doctors in acute medicine seeking to enhance or reinvigorate their ultrasound skills
Critical care, rural medicine, and urgent care doctors and nurse practitioners
Beginners will gain a solid foundation in POCUS, while more experienced scanners can refine their skills with valuable real time feedback from our experienced instructors in a safe supportive learning environment.
No prior experience in point of care ultrasound is required.
